Have a couple of lbs of ground beef and need to get supper on the table? Sloppy Joes will make everyone happy! I love to make this when I'm in a rush and out of ideas. For me, it brings back memories of growing up in the 90s so I just love it.
You could serve this on a bun with sweet potato fries or even just potato chips and a pickle (of course). I bet you could have dinner on the table in under thirty minutes, all with items you likely have laying around.
Sloppy joes will help you get dinner on the table when you are pressed for time and have a hungry family to feed. It's easy to double and freeze for next time and everyone loves it! Ground beef and some fridge and pantry staples just make your weeknight family dinner easy.
Heat olive oil in large skillet. Add onion and bell pepper-saute until softened. Add garlic and cook another minute or so. Salt and pepper to taste.
Add ground beef, break up and cook until nicely browned. Drain fat if you’d like. I usually leave about half because it makes the flavor yummy.
Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar and mustard. Simmer, uncovered, until heated through and slightly thickened, about 5-8 minutes.
